Lives in Hythe, Kent. He is currently working part time as a teacher of art in Folkestone. Smith’s work is concerned with concepts of site and place which he explores through sculpture, photography, video and, always, conversation. His work is ephemeral, often abandoned, and exposed to chance and the elements: this is an integral aspect of his practice. The lockdown has given him the time and space to explore new creative outlets including digital drawing and woodcarving. His latest work is left in situ in a Kent woodland.
