Here is what the young people said about the Big Steam Day on 23 March 2017:
The astrodome:
- It was satisfying watching all the stars and about them, also the planets in the astrodome
- I enjoyed drawing the stars with my classI enjoyed going into the astrodome.
- I enjoyed going into the astrodome. I learnt about the different planets in the universe
- I enjoyed the astrodome today
- I liked looking at the universe in the astrodome
- We love the astrodome because we learnt about the stars
- Very great to experience the astrodome
- I liked the dome as it made me feel relaxed
- The astrodome was good but scary
Activities:
- We designed a planet of our own
- We love the dancing with Chloe
- We love the drawing
- I liked making a creature of our own
- I want to take back to my school the “drawing our family as planets” part. I would love to take that back.
- I really enjoyed it because it was fun
- I liked the drawing because you get to draw whatever you want
- The dancing was crazy

- Top 3 things:
- dome – nice view and got to lie down; dress up – because you got to design an alien; dance – it was funny and you learn the order of the planets
- Dome, dressing up, colouring; why – in the dome you can see everything, dressing up – we all got a go, colouring – we got to colour…and we learnt more things about space
Learning:
- I learnt that Mercury is the smallest planet and also the planet closest to the sun
- I learnt that Jupiter is the biggest planet
- I learnt that the biggest planet is Jupiter
- We learnt that Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system at the moment
- I enjoyed the planetarium because I learned the planet Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system; the best thing was that I personally thought that the ring on Jupiter was made of asteroids not water and gas
- Today I learnt about space and the solar system. I really enjoyed going in the big black bubble. We didn’t enjoy the star thing. I wish we could have done the dance.
- I liked the astrodome because it was fun
