Bunting Forever brings together all generations

Schools and arts award

Participants spanning several generations took part in a Bunting Forever workshop today at St Mary’s C of E primary school, organised by Key Stage 1 Leader, Alison Trelfer. Alison has previously worked with pupils from St Mary’s on the DAD North Downs Way project and it was lovely to work with her again.

It was a delightful morning with lots more bunting pennants made to help us reach our goal of one mile of woolly bunting to decorate Dover for the arrival of the Olympic Torch.  Everyone enjoyed themselves: mums taught their children to sew, one little girl learnt to knit from her grandmother and dads joined in too.

Participants also made pom poms and felt flowers which will be used to make a garland display, also to decorate the town for 18 July.

DAD also received more much needed donations of felt along with left-over yarn for future workshops.
