Chinese New year with DAD

Sea & Walk

Dover Arts Development invites you to celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year – the year of the Rabbit – on Thursday, February 3rd 2011 from 6.30 – 7.30 pm.

The event will take place at The North Downs Way End of Trail Marker by artist Alma Tischler Wood.
The Marker is situated on Dover’s new Esplanade designed by Tonkin Liu architects, by the Swimmers Statue, opposite the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club (CT16 1LA).

There will be performances by China Crisis guitarist Colin Hinds, Fire Poi Master Ivan Cleak, Light Graffitti by the intrepid
Urban Explorers; readings of Mersey Poets influenced verse by Untidy Barry  and Dover Beach by actor Roy Boyd.

To sustain us through the winter’s evening there will be Chinese culinary delights from Zhan Lu Smith, Rabbit Moon Cookies from Alma Tischler Wood and warming mulled wine from the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club.
Do please dress for the cold.

The Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club, exclusively for this occasion, invites all celebrants to come into the warm club and use the bar once the outdoor events have finished and the Chinese sky lanterns have floated away.
They will be offering a Chinese buffet at £6 a head for those who would like it. It might be advisable to book in advance for this 01304 206262.

We look forward to celebrating with all those who can make it.
