Collaborative Research Group visit DAD in Dover
On Thursday 14 November, Alex, Charley, Trish and Louisa, 4 of the 6 practitioners in the Collaborative Research Group came to visit us in Dover for a “Walk and Talk” about DAD and the work we do. We met at the station and walked up to the Western Heights and Drop Redoubt, and then walked down to the Tonkin Liu Esplanade, taking in Alma Tischler Wood’s North Down’s Way Start/Finish line and ending up at the White Horse for lunch and more conversation.
Some thoughts on the day:
- I feel like I have a refreshed impression of Dover! I thought it was a great way to present to the group both the town and what you do as DAD. We were so lucky with the weather too! Everybody said afterwards how much they enjoyed it, and meeting you both (Trish and Alex). Aine Dom and Toby are sorry they missed it! Thank you for being such great hosts. Will be good to think about how CRG and DAD could collaborate in some way… (Charley Vines)
- Just wanted to say a big thank you for your generous hosting on Thursday. Everyone really enjoyed the day and I felt people were genuinely inspired by what you create and as two people who are passionate about what you are doing. I’m also glad we went walking! Its one of my favourite activities to inspire thought and good conversations. (Alex Parry)
- Good stuff everyone – looked like a wonderful and interesting day, wish I could’ve been there…(Toby Huddlestone)
- Thank you for a lovely day on thursday – it was great to chat to you both and to have a nice refreshing walk through Dover …(Louise Love)
