Land and Sea exhibition

Chalk Up

We are delighted to be working in association with the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club and the Port of Dover on the Land and Sea exhibition of rarely seen paintings on loan from the Port of Dover. The exhibition is in the newly refurbished Lord Nelson Suite at the Royal Cinq Ports Yacht Club, Waterloo Crescent. Dover CT16 1LA.

The exhibition and linked programme is supported with heritage lottery funding from the “Up on the Downs” Partnership Scheme.

Members of the public will be able to view the paintings on Saturday 11 April and Sunday 12 April. Dover Arts Development is running two Land and Sea watercolour workshops on the Sunday in the Yacht Club. Participants are invited to re-discover their love of painting and drawing, inspired by the view from the Lord Nelson Suite balcony and the paintings in the exhibition. We will be joined by artist Helen Lindon.

Opening times:

Saturday, 11th April: 12 noon – 6pm –

Sunday, 12th April: 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm – Free watercolour workshops

In addition to the opening weekend, the exhibition will run throughout the summer with a programmed finale weekend in September. For more information about the exhibition and summer opening times, please contact the RCPYC on

The exhibition is the latest contribution from the Port to its PORTrait initiative, which is focused on nurturing a shared cultural expression of Dover through the Arts and is also part of the Culture Kent Dover Pilot which is encouraging and developing cultural tourism to Dover.
